Become a Scout Volunteer
You might be surprised how many adults are needed to maintain a strong scouting program for Troop 76.
We offer scouts, your sons, leadership training, outdoor activities and adventures in an atmosphere of support and positive values. The troop's committed adults help scouts become successful, independent and morally strong adults.
Even though the goal is a scout led troop, we rely on adult volunteers to support the organization and programs for scouts. A replenishing supply of adult leaders is needed or the troop will suffer.
The most visible adults in the troop are the uniformed leaders; Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. By helping to lead a troop, adults apply the lessons of scouting to become better parents.
In addition to the uniformed leaders, there are other volunteers behind the scenes in troop committee roles making sure that the group functions smoothly and, most importantly, that the scouts have rewarding and learning adventures and experiences.
Please sign up using this form. Once completed, send it with your scout to give to the Scoutmaster at the next weekly troop meeting. Adults have many opportunities for training in their positions from classes to terrific on-line resources.
The Boy Scouts of America requires any adult working with scouts in any volunteer capacity to complete Youth Protection Training. This is mandatory for anyone who would like to participate as an adult volunteer on any of our trips, service projects, or events and or serve as a volunteer driver.
Please consider joining the troop as an Scout Parent, a member of the committee or a uniformed leader. Membership fees are paid by the troop. The BSA adult application may be printed here. When completed, please give to the Scoutmaster or Committee Chair for processing.
Thank you for making our troop great for your children.
