Community Service Opportunities
Save Aldrich Park from an Invasion
May 5th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. is the next opportunity to help the Ridgefield Conservation Commission remove Burning Bush, an invasive plant growing rampant in Aldrich Park. Bring gloves. Details available here. Participation will count for any rank advancement-related service hours. For scouts at Star rank, these count as conservation hours. For scouts interested in starting the Citizenship in the Community merit badge (Eagle required), one of its requirements is performing 8 hours of service for the same organization. Scouts interested in working on this badge, please reach out to Scoutmaster Pearl for a blue card. No sign-up sheet will be available for this project. If you'd like to help Aldrich Park, bring a parent, or coordinate yourselves into groups with parental coverage.
